"For the Forrest Allen scholarship fund, in recognition of the way Team 44's efforts to support one family has now blessed many others as well."
"With love and prayers to Julie and her family in memory of Hunter; and in thanks to APTB to reaching out and may you touch many others."
Our mission is to help people face, navigate, and overcome life's challenges using the therapeutic arts. We believe that inclusionary programming means treating all people, and all gifts and challenges, equally. With our unique brand of "Performance Based Music Therapy" we aim to transform the lives of our participants and the community around them. We opened our doors in 2010, starting with only 25 clients. We now are entering our 7th year of operation, seeing over 300 families per week!
We use performance to educate audiences about acceptance, empathy, diversity, disabilities, and inclusion especially through our Nationwide Educational Awareness production, "Behind the Label", which has seen over 30,000 students in the Northern Virginia area alone. This Fall, we premiered "A WILL to Survive", a rock opera dedicated to highlight the struggles that teenagers face today. The goal is to talk about depression, suicide prevention, and accepting others and yourself no matter what life challenges you might face.
We believe in an organic system of learning and growth for all participants, volunteers, teens and adults, where everyone discovers they have something to give as well as to receive from other human beings. Your gift will go directly toward improving our programming and financial aid support. We appreciate any contribution; every donation goes a long way in helping us help the lives of others!
